Position Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across classrooms, offices, restrooms, kitchen areas, storage rooms, and common spaces. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms, offices, observation rooms, and storage areas, including tables, chairs, shelves, toys, and surfaces.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors; remove dirt, spills, stains, and cobwebs as needed.
Clean and polish windows, glass surfaces, doors, light fixtures, and entryways.
Sanitize and restock restrooms, including cleaning toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors, and partitions.
Maintain kitchen areas by cleaning appliances, countertops, sinks, cabinets, and washing/drying dishes when required.
Empty, clean, and sanitize trash bins; replace liners and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Conduct periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as polishing stainless steel, cleaning electronics, and detailed sanitation of less frequently used areas.
Support exterior cleanliness by sweeping sidewalks, maintaining playground equipment, and cleaning outdoor handwashing stations.
Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards; properly handle approved cleaning agents and supplies.
Promptly report any maintenance issues, leaks, or damages to the supervisor.
